DAV prominent at Big Apple on VETERANS DAY
DAV members and supporters gathered outside the Today Show studio in New York City’s Times Square on Veterans Day in order to promote the organization’s free services. In partnership with ABC and Disney, DAV was prominently featured on interactive billboards visible from any vantage in one of the world’s busiest pedestrian areas. During the activation, volunteers provided and collected more than 1,000 cards containing notes of gratitude and get-well wishes for hospitalized veterans from concerned citizens at the hub of the Broadway theater district. DAV Department of New York Commander Israel Rivera and National 2nd Junior Vice Commander Donald Day led the effort.
