VETERAN DISABILITY COMPENSATION RATES
■ Veterans are seeing a 2 percent increase in 2018 VA disability rates—the result of the most significant Social Security cost-of-living allowance, or COLA, adjustment since 2012. The significance of such an increase can be seen by eligible veterans—veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 10 percent or higher—in monthly disability compensation payments.
“Many seriously disabled veterans rely on disability compensation payments to help offset expenses,” said National Commander Delphine Metcalf-Foster. “It is a relief to see the rates increase for the first time in a few years, as the national cost of living is continuously rising.”
