Enjoy your ADVANTAGES, support your fellow veterans

DAV’s Member Advantages program does more than just help members save on big-ticket items like vehicles. Members can rack up purchase savings on many different popular brands as well—all while helping put funds back into DAV’s mission.

“The DAV Member Advantages program allows us to partner with corporations who give our members discounts,” said National Membership Director Doug Wells. “When a member makes a purchase or uses a service, a portion of that sale reverts back to DAV to help fund our programs and services, such as the Transportation Network.”

DAV members facing a big life event such as moving can have a lot of stress and concerns about costs, but NorthAmerican Moving Services is ready to help members save money—and heartache.

“We’ve been working with DAV for over 20 years,” said Tim Mento, vice president for corporate development with NorthAmerican Van Lines. “We’re so excited to continue our partnership with DAV, and help members safely move their belongings and save money through our program.”

DAV members receive higher-tiered service, which can be valuable for veterans with disabilities or mobility issues. Ideally, NorthAmerican will come out four to six weeks prior to the move date, conduct a walk-through and come back with an estimated cost.

“We plan for a worst-case scenario and work back from that,” said Mento. “Depending on the member’s budget, we can make recommendations where they can save. We provide a basic service, which is picking up packed items and furniture and unloading at the destination.”

“Our franchise owner is a disabled veteran,” Mento explained. “He’s very committed to this program and helping his fellow veterans.”

“A lot of the discounts that stand out to members are for life events like moving to a new home or purchasing a new Ford,” Wells added. “But there are more advantages that members could be using more often.”

One such advantage is through DAV's partnership with 1-800-Flowers.com®. Their site is a one-stop shop, allowing DAV members to send flowers for any occasion—holidays, birthdays, graduations or just to say “thinking of you.”

If you’re looking for something beyond blooms, DAV’s partnership with 1-800-Flowers.com® includes discounts for several other online gift sites, including Cheryl’s Cookies and The Popcorn Factory. If you’ve missed out on sending the perfect Valentine’s Day gift or you’re looking to send a bouquet for Mother’s Day, you can reap the benefits of your DAV membership to secure special deals—all while helping direct funds back to critical veterans programs.

New companies have partnered with DAV to offer discounts to members, including Avis and Budget Car Rental, which offer up to 25 percent savings on their base rates. DAV members considering purchasing or refinancing a home with Quicken Loans can get $500 cash back after closing, plus a $750 closing-cost credit.

Members can shop and save anytime—and that helps support DAV and the many no-cost programs and services that benefit our nation’s veterans throughout the year. You can access the partner links in the membership portal on DAV’s website. There, members will be given the discount codes to use when completing their orders.
