Bearing a burden heavier than the rest of us may ever know, our wounded warriors embody the perseverance and relentless determination that have always defined us, and their selflessness has helped preserve our country as a beacon of hope and liberty for all people.

The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial reminds us of the obligation we have to serve our Nation’s veterans as well as they have served us and to demonstrate our profound gratitude for all they have endured. No one who has fought for our freedom and peace should have to fight for their place in our American story—and we owe it to all our veterans to build a future worthy of their sacrifices.
