Dan Contreras Dan Contreras, a service-connected Army veteran and past state commander of California, currently serves as the adjutant/treasurer for DAV’s Department of California. He has also served on the National Executive Committee and, in 2009, was elected to the board of directors for the National Service Foundation where he still serves today. Contreras served in the Army from 1980 to 1996 as a combat medic and army nurse, achieving the rank of sergeant first class. From 2000 to 2008, he worked as a DAV national service officer and area supervisor. Contreras is a life member of Chapter 99 in Oxnard, Calif. In addition to his various leadership and managerial positions within the national and state levels of the organization, he was also appointed to chair the California Mexican-American Veterans Memorial Committee by California Governors Schwarzenegger and Brown. Contreras is seeking election to national office. William “Bill” Dolan William “Bill” Dolan, a service-connected Army veteran, was the past commander of DAV for the Department of Nevada and is currently a deputy chief of staff to the national commander. He was the convention chair for the 2018 DAV and DAV Auxiliary National Convention in Reno, Nev. Dolan is a life member of Chapter 15 in Pahrump, Nev. He is also a member of DAV Auxiliary Unit 15 in Pahrump. Dolan has donated thousands of volunteer hours to DAV and other organizations within his community. He has also served on various committees at the department and national levels within DAV. He is seeking election to national office. Michael E. Dobmeier | For National Judge Advocate Michael Dobmeier has served as national judge advocate, advising the National Executive Committee (NEC) and board of directors since 2002. He served as DAV national commander in 1999 and as the 14th District NEC representative in 1994. Dobmeier enlisted in the Navy in 1969 after graduating from high school. He trained as an engineman; attended the Naval Submarine School in New London, Conn.; and completed Navy Dive School in San Diego. In April 1972, Dobmeier suffered severe burns on more than 30% of his body after an oil heater exploded aboard the submarine USS Trigger. He was discharged later that year and became a life member of Chapter 2 in Grand Forks, N.D. He has since been appointed or elected to nearly every chapter and department office and position, and was named the 1985 DAV Outstanding Member of the Department of North Dakota. Dobmeier is seeking election to another term as national judge advocate. Join us in Orlando!
